Will you repierce after keloids?

I highly recommend that you do NOT consider additional piercings if you've had keloids because there is a high

likelihood they will reappear. Keloids can become a serious issue and in some cases cause severe disfigurement.


Sometimes keloids are confused with hypertrophic scarring. The scar tissue from a keloid continues to grow but scar tissue from hypertrophic scarring generally stabilizes at a certain point and in some cases may even decrease over time. Piercing with a slight overgrowth of scar tissue (hypertrophic) is usually ok'd by most dermatologists.
