What is a "needle" piercing?

All professional piercers use sterile, hollow, beveled needles that are manufactured specifically for piercing. A needle piercing is performed using a needle and then a taper to transfer the jewelry. All tools/markers are one-time use, sterile, and disposable.

Being able to pierce with a needle requires signifcant training to understand which size jewelry, gauge and length of the post to use for each piercing. The metal used in a fresh piercing is extremely important and is often the difference between a well healed piercing and one with chronic issues.

I use implant grade titanium posts for nearly every piercing (sometimes I do use 14k or 18k gold posts as well). Everyone's anatomy is different so each piercing is tailored specifically to you. There is no "one size fits all" in professional piercing.
